Construction begins on eco-friendly factory in Arezzo - "Uno a Erre" is a worldwide market leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of gold jewellery.
The company has recently begun construction on a new factory at their headquarters in Arezzo. The new site should be completed at the end of 2009 and will consolidate the company's production, which is currently distributed among various locations.
The new factory will be the first in Europe to be connected to a hydro-generator a beneficial innovation from a variety of standpoints, including cost-effectiveness, logistics, security and energy savings.
"Uno a Erre" has invested roughly 15 million euros in the project, plus an additional two million euros in real estate costs.
Once completed, the site will cover 16,000 square metres within the San Zeno industrial area.
"Uno a Erre" has been a jewellery industry leader for over 80 years and is the number one producer of wedding rings in Italy.
The company boasts sales proceeds upwards of 60 million euros and treats more than 12 tons of raw materials each year.
Sixty percent of sales are done through exports to 40 different countries.
