Agrifood: Egypt eyes Italy, Cremona Fiera delegationNorth Africa is an increasingly preferred business area for Italian agro-zootechnical companies, especially for imports from a market which is becoming very competitive.

The trend is revealed in data from the sector from the Fiera di Cremona, which will welcome a large delegation of Egyptian operators.

According to the organisers of the fair in Lombardy, trade of the Italian sector with Egypt reaches 3.7 billion euro per year and is in continuous and strong expansion: the boom of imports from the North African country was 71% last year.

And the Mediterranean agriculture world immediately showed interest: for the International Fair of Bovines for Milk, to run between October 25 and 28, many delegations of North African companies will arrive in Cremona led by a large group of Egyptian entrepreneurs.

"The visit, organised in collaboration with the Italian Foreign Trade Institute (ICE), has the primary objective to put in contact the Italian companies with a sector in very strong growth, which has much to offer both from the point of view of the market and from technology," CremonaFiera organisers explain.

"Most of the companies to come are working in avant-garde equipment and technologies, and expressed special interest in studying the Italian sector and companies," the organisers conclude.
