In 2007 travellers who chose agriturismi in and around Florence grew by 3% with a marked increase in foreign guests (+7.3%).
Today's Tuscany boasts 24% of the businesses in the sector: 3,800 structures with a total of 46,000 beds.
Florence alone counts 563 agriturismi and approximately 7,500 beds.
These data come from sector research done by the Centro studi turistici in San Casciano Val di Pesa.
The positive results show constant growth - the businesses have grown by more than 50% with respect to 2002.
Those with restaurants have increased by 22.6% and those offering recreational activities by 16%.
