A so-called 'bridge' loan to keep ailing Italian airline Alitalia in the air was approved Wednesday by the Senate and now moves to the House.
The decree approving the loan was drafted by the previous government to keep Alitalia solvent amid takeover talks.
Air France-KLM walked away from the deal just after last month's elections and there is widespread talk of an all-Italian consortium being set up.
