Antico Colle Fiorito olive oil goes to JapanOrganic olive oil made in the hills of Montalbano by Antico Colle Fiorito of Lamporecchio (Pistoia) can now be enjoyed all over Japan at the Yamakawa restaurant chain.

It is a big step for a small press that produces only 50 quintals of olive oil per year.

The olive groves cover 14 hectares and include over 2,000 trees. Sales to Yamakawa represent 30% of all total sales (around 500,000 euro).

Taking into consideration the company's distribution in Germany, exports represent 20% of their total production.

Antico Colle Fiorito is a family-run farm that dates back to 1620 and the noble Rospigliosi family. It has been undergoing intense restoration since 2002.

Thanks to its exceptional olive oil and environmentally friendly practices, the company was awarded the 'Bandiera Verde 2007' a national recognition given by the Italian government and the Confederation of Italian Farmers.

The company produces numerous other products besides olive oil, and also runs a 'teaching farm'.
