The Asian Jewellery Show saw the participation of Arezzo goldsmiths at this year's fair, which took place from March 4 to 6 in Hong Kong.

The space, hosted by the Arezzo Chamber of Commerce, included 17 area businesses.

Among these more than half were associated with the Confartigianato Imprese Arezzo, who exhibited during the prestigious international fair.

Even the gold and silver sector is undergoing a globalisation trend that is moving towards Asia, which has become the barometer for international exchange.

The Hong Kong show has become the fulcrum for business all over the Asian region, in addition to being a reference point for international buyers.

The Hong Kong International Jewellery Show is one of the most important events on the international stage.

The numbers evidence its significance: 1547 exhibitors from 40 countries and 27,000 buyers from 124 countries.

Vice president of the Federazioni Orafi di Confartigianato Imprese Arezzo, Pierpaolo Chimenti, commented: ''The Arezzo businesses have showed their originality in production by participating in this fair.

''The Hong Kong show is one of the most important doors to the Asian market, a fundamental event for industry leaders, especially during a time when the competition scene is so rapidly developing.

''Countries that used to absorb the majority of our exports, like the U.S., are now turning to our competition in developing countries.

''For this reason it is essential that our companies are present at the most important international fairs, in order to get in direct contact with the buyers operating on the principal world markets''.

Chimeti continued: ''The organizers deserve congratulations. ICE set up the Italian pavilion beautifully.

''A special thanks goes to the Chamber of Commerce and to the support that they give to both businesses and our association.

''We hope that the Chamber will continue to financially support those entrepreneurs who dedicate themselves to internationalisation of their products, exploring new markets in the search for new commercial opportunities''.
