American actress Julia Roberts and Italian fashion icon Giorgio Armani have teamed up to design a bracelet to help raise funds for the battle against AIDS.
The bracelets will go on sale starting December 1 on the www.emporioarmani.com website and in the Emporio Armani clothing chain in the United States in mid-December.
The sale will be extended later to other Emporio Armani shops and select department stores and jewelry shops around the world beginning February 1.
The bohemian-style leather bracelet will come in red for women and brown for men and is embossed with an image of the tree of life surrounded by the words: Revolution Evolution Devotion Tree, the source of the acronym RED given to an initiative by Armani, U2 frontman Bono and others to combat AIDS in Africa.
The bracelet has a silver closing clip and inscribed on the inside of the bracelet is: J.R. for Emporio Armani RED PRODUCT.
40% of earnings from RED PRODUCTS go to a global fund to combat AIDS in Africa.
