French choreographer of Algerian origin Heddy Maalem is in Rovereto to complete the preparation of his new work Un Champ de Forces whose premiere will take place on September 5, 2006 during the annual Festival Oriente Occidente.
The show reflects the urgency to slow down the race to nothing which characterises contemporary humanity, the ethnical and cultural identity and unites many dancers from France, Senegal, Japan, Spain, the Netherlands and Korea.
Along with the movements Maalem s performance offers music and images thanks to the collaboration of great artists such as the musician Helene Sage and video artist Samuel Dravet who received the Luce Institute Award for best photography at the Roma Music Doc Fest in 2005.
Heddy Maalem is among the new names in international dance who is winning praise and attention both on the part of the public and the critics.
Representatives of some of the major European festivals and dance companies are expected to attend the Italian premiere in Rovereto, among them Centre Choregraphique de Toulouse, Het Muziektheater in Amsterdam, Maison de la Danse in Avignon, Montpellier Dance Festival, the Theatre Forum Meyrin, Belem in Lisbon and Vienna International Festival (Impulstanz)
