Palermo's World Cup winning centre-back Andrea Barzagli is moving to Fiorentina, the Sicilian club announced Friday.

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini said the clubs had agreed a fee of ten million euros and the player was negotiating the personal terms of a five-year deal.

Palermo is also trying to lure Fiorentina's ex-Italy playmaker Fabio Liverani away from Florence, Zamparini said.

Palermo Sporting Director Rino Foschi said ''we are doing all we can to hire the player...Obviously, Liverani would like to play in the Champions League with Fiorentina but he's very tempted by the prospect of Palermo''.

Barzagli, 27, has 21 caps and was recently named part of the Euro 2008 squad as back-up to Marco Materazzi - for whom he deputised in Italy's World Cup quarter-final win against Ukraine.

Ex-Lazio 32-year-old Liverani, whose mother is Somali, became Italy's first player of African origin in 2001 and went on to win three caps, the last in a friendly against Croatia last August.
