A reported deal between AC Milan and the LA Galaxy on David Beckham ''is not official,'' Milan CEO Adriano Galliani said Friday, contradicting widespread media claims.
''We're on the right track and we've made a whole lot of progress but we haven't signed anything yet,'' Galliani said.
The clubs are working to extend Beckham's two-month loan, which runs out on Monday, until June 30.
Some Milan fans fear that a match against Atalanta on Sunday could be Beckham's last but there have been several media reports saying the England star will only return to the US in July and could join Milan again next year.
''As soon as we reach a deal, it won't take long to sign it,'' Galliani said.
The England midfielder, 33, has turned out in all of Milan's matches since January, scoring two goals and providing several assists.
Despite a dip in his form as third-placed Milan have sunk 12 points behind leaders and champs Inter Milan, AC are still keen to keep him.
His surprising performance made sure England coach Fabio Capello handed him a record-equalling 108th cap against Spain last month.
Beckham has repeatedly stated he wants to stay in Milan.
