Seatec international show set for February 7 to 9 - For three days Carrara will be the global sport and shipbuilding capital thanks to Seatec, the international show set for February 7 to 9.
The fair, presnted in Florence, will bring together 858 exhibitors from 25 countries hosted in a 31,000 square metre space.
This show, in addition to the one in Amsterdam, is considered the main European event in the sector.
It is expected to register a 36 percent increase in exhibitors this year with respect to last year's edition.
Among them, 613 are Italian (+38%) and 245 foreigners (+30%). Over 10,000 are expected to visit the exhibition.
Fair director Paris Mazzanti affirmed: ''Seatec is the only international event held in Italy that deals with technology, suppliers and hosts member of the International Federation of Boat Show Organizers.
''In only five years the show has gone from 150 exhibitors in 2003 to 628 in 2007 and has doubled the number of visitors''.
Regional business superintendent Ambrogio Brenna said: ''For us, Seatec is the appropriate place to showcase the high quality production done in our region, which is recognized all over the world''.
The nautical industry in Italy boasts almost 3.5 billion euro in sales (2006) with a 19.5 percent increase with respect to 2005.
Exports total almost 2 billion euro. When boat production, accessories, motors and other gadgets are included, sales are upwards of five billion euro.
In addition, there are currently 777 megayachts under construction all over the world (59 of which are sailboats and 718 are motorboats); among these, 347 will be built in Italy, which, for the number of units produced in the luxury yacht sector, is 45 percent of the market.
