Serie A champions Inter Milan entertain Lazio Sunday looking to regain pride after losing 6-2 to Roma in the first leg of the Italian Cup final Wednesday.
The humiliating defeat leaves Inter little chance of retaining the cup they have won for the last two years in next week's second leg.
And it blemishes a season in which Inter have been the dominant force, securing the league title with five games to spare three weeks ago.
Inter's players were blasted for a spineless showing in Italy's sports press Thursday.
And the club's fans will be looking for a reaction worthy of the scudetto-holders at the San Siro Stadium.
The champs have 90 points with three games to go and are on course to beat the all-time Serie A points record of 94. This belongs to the great Torino side of 1947-48 (if their tally is calculated with the present system of three points for a win).
Lazio, third with 61 points, go in to the game knowing that a draw or better will guarantee them a place in next season's Champions League.
Inter boss Roberto Mancini, a former Lazio player and coach, is without suspended Colombian defender Ivan Cordoba and injured Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Understandably Roma, who have 72 points and are sure to finish second to gain direct access to the Champions League group stage, travel to relegation-threatened Torino (14th, 36 points) in high spirits.
The cup win has helped exorcise the ghosts of the 7-1 defeat they suffered at Manchester United in the Champions League quarter-finals.
Captain Francesco Totti will be aiming to move his goal tally for the season beyond 22 and tighten his grip on the Serie A top-scorer title. His nearest rival is Livorno's Cristiano Lucarelli, the author of 18 league goals.
Champions League finalists AC Milan, fourth with 60 points, want to beat Catania (12th, 37) away from home to make sure they will be playing in Europe's premier club competition next season no matter what happens against Liverpool in Athens on May 23.
At the bottom of the table, Reggina (16th, 35) play host to Chievo Verona (15th, 35), rivals in the battle to avoid the drop to Serie B.
The Parma side (17th, 35) of former Chelsea boss Claudio Ranieri will also be looking to move towards safety with a win over already-demoted Messina (19th, 25).
Siena (18th, 34) need to end a run of three consecutive defeats at home to Empoli (5th, 53) to climb out of the relegation zone.
There are three more Serie A matches on Sunday afternoon: Ascoli (20th, 21) - Palermo (6th, 52), Fiorentina (7th, 51) - Cagliari (11th, 37), Livorno (13th, 36) - Sampdoria (9th, 46), and Udinese (10th, 43) - Atalanta (8th, 46).
