A new tourism promotional programme called 'Florence Loves You', which offers a series of discounts throughout the city, is in effect for Austrian visitors until March 15.
Province president Matteo Renzi presented the programme recently at the Italian Embassy in Vienna.
Austrian visitors who show their identification cards at the tourist office will be given a kit with coupons for free entrances for some museums and buildings (like Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence).
They will also receive a free two-day bus pass and a free bus tour of the city.
It is the second time this type of initiative has been carried out in collaboration with the APT tourist agency and ENIT.
Last year's programme was geared towards Dutch tourists.
