Efficiency in fashion lies in logisticsCosts cut by 15% with modern warehousing and distribution - The significant reduction was highlighted during a conference held in Palazzo Medici Riccardi in Florence, which was sponsored by specialists of the INCAS group.

A press release explains: "By paying attention to logistics, companies can become more competitive with those foreign manufacturers able to produce at an extremely low cost but who then pay high transport fees. If you look at the significant difference in quality, you will see that 'Made in Italy' is the clear winner".

The conference was held in collaboration with the provincial government and the University of Florence. Numerous industry members participated including high fashion brands Gucci, Zegna, Prada, Ferragamo, Max Mara, Furla, Valentino and Cavalli.

Specific case studies were presented, including that of Ermenegildo Zegna, who recently streamlined all of his warehouses and distribution centres.

The study was presented by Zegna's systems manager, Roberto Ravasco, who explained how the standardization of the processes added value to the business.
