Italian pop sensation Eros Ramazzotti is teaming up with Latin star Ricky Martin on his new album.

The duet, entitled 'Non Siamo Soli' (We Are Not Alone), will be one of four new songs to feature on a double-disk Best Of Eros CD, which will be released on October 26.

But fans will be able to hear the joint effort of two of pop's biggest-selling international artists on radio stations from September 28.

The Roman singer-songwriter has sold some 35 million records worldwide in a career spanning a quarter of a century.

The Puerto Rican creator of hits like Maria, Livin' La Vida Loca and She Bangs has sold over 50 million.

After a concert here in July, staged as part of his Black and White World tour, Martin said that a duet with Ramazzotti would be "very, very powerful".

The project with Martin is the latest in a series of duets the 43-year-old has recorded with top artists.

In 1997 he made songs with Tina Turner (Cose della Vita - Can't Stop Thinking of You) and Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli (Musica E') for his first Best Of album, which won 32 platinum discs after selling more than six million copies.

A year later the Eros Live album featured a duet with Joe Cocker of a song written by the British blues great called 'That's All I Need To Know', recorded at a concert in Munich.

Cher helped Ramazzotti out with a song entitled Piu' Che Puoi' for his 2000 album Stilelibero, while American soul performer Anastacia sang a duet called 'I Belong to You' on his most recent compilation, Calma Apparente.

The Italian has shared stages with Elton John, Rod Stewart and Jimmy Page too.

Ramazzotti's first single, Ad Un Amico (To A Friend), came out in 1982.

In 1984 the singer-songwriter took part in Italy's prestigious San Remo music festival - a competition he went on to win two years later with Adesso Tu (Now You).

Since then his distinctive nasal voice and ability to blend simple pop tunes with traditional Italian influences have won him a huge international following.

The new Best Of, which will include re-arranged versions of favourites like Piu' Bella Cosa and Terra Promessa, will be his 14th album.
