Former New York city mayor and probable presidential hopeful Rudolph Giuliani is in Italy for a brief visit during which he will hold informal talks with several Italian leaders.

Giuliani, who arrived with his wife Judith Monday night, came to the Italian capital to be the guest of honor Wednesday night at the Jerome Hines Memorial Peace Concert, which has been organised by the group Calabria for Zambia: A Bridge of Solidarity.

After spending two days in Rome, Giuliani will travel to Cosenza where he will hold a conference for 500 students at the university of Calabria on Thursday on the topic of leadership and social commitment.

During his stay in Rome, the ex-New York mayor will have informal meetings Tuesday with Senate Speaker Franco Marini and the chairman of the Interparliamentary Union, former House speaker Fernando Casini.

Giuliani will hold a press conference at the foreign press club here on Tuesday afternoon and on Wedensday, after visiting the Vatican museum with his wife, he will pay a private courtesy call on Italian Head of State Giorgio Napolitano, at the presidential Quirinale Palace.
