103 high quality brands, 24 from abroad - The worldwide knitwear collections preview for spring/summer 2009 begins on January 30 and runs until February 1 at Florence's Fortezza da Basso.
Some 103 brands will be presented, 24 of which hail from outside of Italy, and all represent the highest quality and prestige in their sector. Over 5,000 buyers are expected.
As in past editions, the latest fashion trends will be presented at Spazio Ricerca, organized by designer Angelo Figus in collaboration with knitwear expert Nicola Miller.
This year's theme is 'A Filo d'Acqua', an underwater world with suggestions for experiments that can bring about new weaves, colours and imagination.
The special event will be the 'Eco-Luxe' project - organized by knitwear expert Ornella Bignami - which focuses on organic weaves and natural tinting and colouring processes.
Presenters include Somelos Fios (Portugal), Lanificio e capanificio italiano (Italy) and M-lab (England).
