Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen is itching to get back on the track after Formula 1's summer break and finish the season on top.

"The holidays are over and now I'm ready to get back on track. This last part of the season will be the one which will decide everything," Raikkonen said ahead of this weekend's Turkish Grand Prix.

"There are three races in four weeks, plus a test, so this will be a very busy time. However, the races will be on tracks that are not only among my among my favorites - Istanbul, Monza and Spa-Francorchamps - but where Ferrari should be very competitive," he said on on Ferrari's media website.

Raikkonen won the first Turkish Grand Prix in 2005 with McLaren while his current Ferrari teammate Felipe Massa won it last year, his first Grand Prix victory. Looking back at the season so far, Raikkonen, who joined the Italian team this year, said: "I now understand the difference between being a driver for Ferrari as compared to other teams. We concentrate only on what we have to do, 100%".

"My approach to these last six races will be the same as for the previous ones: to win and collect as many points as possible. Then we can do the math and look at the standings," the Finn added.

"Aside from giving our best, we're hoping that those ahead of us will run into problems. I have nothing to lose so I can take more risks than my colleagues at McLaren," he observed.

"I just can't wait for Friday morning so that I can drive my laps behind the wheel of my Ferrari," concluded Raikkonen, who won his first Formula 1 race in Turkey.

Raikkonen is currently 20 points behind standings leader Lewis Hamilton, who has a 7-point advantage over his McLaren teammate Fermando Alonso.

McLaren also leads the constructors' championship with 138 points against 119 for Ferrari.
