Fiat is heading off to the Geneva International Automobile Show with the intention of touting not only its snazzy new models but also its environmental conscience.

From March 2 to 12, the 1,200sqm Fiat stand will present the Turin automaker's full range of cars: from the top end Croma to the totally revamped Grande Punto, the sporty Panda cross to the SUV Fiat Seidici.

The stand dedicated to Fiat's environmentally-friendly side will include the new Multipla MY Emotion-Natural Power model and the Panda MultiEco concept car, which represents Fiat's latest innovations in favor of the environment.

A street version of the concept vehicle, the Panda Natural Power car, is set to hit showrooms by the end of the year.

The Multipla MY Emotion is the latest version of the popular six-seater "people mover", with refined exteriors and interiors, and comes equipped with a dual fuel system, one using normal gasoline and the other non-polluting methane gas.

Fiat has also applied the dual system to a wide range of its models including the Doblo' mini-van, the Punto, Panda and the Ducato commercial van.

Sales of these environmentally friendly models doubled last year over 2004.

Another novelty in Geneva will be Fiat's Blue& Me, a state-of-the-art information and communication system developed jointly by Fiat and Microsoft. Using Windows Mobile technology, this system allows the
driver to safely make and receive calls and listen to music. Ample space has been made at the Fiat stand for its various four-wheel drive cars: the new Fiat Seidici and Panda Cross, including a 'monster' version of the latter, as well as the versatile standard Panda all-wheel drive car.
