First practise for Beckham with AC Milan

British superstar David Beckham had his first practice session with AC Milan on Tuesday at the club's holiday training camp in Dubai.

The first session was dedicated mostly to warm-up exercises and some ball handling while a more intensive session is expected later in the day.

The 33-year-old England midfielder has arrived in Italy on a three-month loan from Los Angeles Galaxy while it is in between seasons.

Beckham agreed to join Milan to keep in shape and increase his chances of a call from England and former Milan manager Fabio Capello and to add to his national caps tally, which currently stands at 107.

The former England captain needs only one more cap to match the 108 England record for midfielders held by Bobby Moore.

Capello recently said he would keep an eye on Beckham at Milan and that should he play well a call to the national squad would be ''possible''.

The England coach, who had the British midfielder in his team when both were at Real Madrid, has made it clear that there will be no ''sympathy'' call-up for Beckham, who he said must demonstrate that he ''deserves'' to play for his country.

Beckham must adapt quickly to Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti's game plan if he wants to make his debut in Serie A when play resumes January 11 and Milan travels to the Italian capital to face AS Roma.
