Tuscany is leading a marketing project to promote the marble from the regions and provinces that belong to the Inter-reg network.

The operating structure is the Internazionale Marmi e Macchine di Carrara.

Production of marble plaques and stones, at the centre of the promotional initiative, won the 22nd annual Gold Award at the Exhibit Design Awards competition for the decoration of the Ice-Istituto nazionale per il Commercio Estero's stand at the 2007 American Institute of Architects convention that recently took place in Houston.

The recognition went to architect Mitchell Mauk, who created a stand in the Marble Regions of Italy area that highlighted marble production from the Inter-reg regions including Tuscany, Liguria, Lazio, Puglia, Sicily, Sardinia and Trent.
