Great response for Italy's seven wonders competition

| Thu, 10/15/2009 - 10:16

In the beginning of September we launched a competition to discover Italy's sever wonders, and the response has been absolutely amazing. We've had hundreds of submissions and some wonderful suggestions.

We were aiming to publish the results by the 1st of October but there have been so many responses to get through that we needed some more time. Well we are now glad to say that by next week we will have the results out.

In the meantime here is a small preview of some of the comments that we really enjoyed reading.

Many nominated Italy in its entirety, which is something we understand and appreciated. Of those who managed to break it down further many went for more general things such as "the people", "the language" or "the culture". All of which, we agree, are wonders in their own right.

D.M. nominated one of the most original wonders by saying: "The light in Italy is like no where else in the world as it shines down on beautiful buildings, rivers, lakes, incredible scenery".

The food featured heavily, both in its entirety but also in some of its more famous representatives such as wine, pizza, pasta, parmigiano, limoncello, etc.

Many artists were also deemed worthy of wonder status from Leonardo to Michelangelo, but also Sophia Loren.

In all it is great to sift through the results and we look forward to presenting the full breakdown next week.
