Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry, in Rome to launch her new film Perfect Stranger, said on Tuesday that she had a project in the works for a movie with Italian director Gabriele Muccino.
Berry declined to give any details of the project involving Muccino, who recently scored a huge box office success in the US with The Pursuit of Happyness, starring Will Smith.
She said she liked working with non-American directors and noted that she recently made a film with Danish director Susanne Bier.
Muccino, contacted in Los Angeles, confirmed that he had talked to the actress about a possible future film but stressed that there was "nothing concrete" yet.
He said Berry, 40, had already put in some "exceptional" acting performances in her career.
Berry won the best-actress Oscar in 2002 for Monster's Ball. She also etched herself into the minds of many male fans with her performance in a skintight black suit in Catwoman (2004).
Perfect Stranger, a thriller set against the world of Internet hackers, also stars Bruce Willis and Giovanni Ribisi.
