A must-have volume for wine enthusiasts - The 20 year history of scientific study and research on Castello Banfi's Brunello was recently published in a volume entitled La Ricerca dell'Eccelenza (In Search of Excellence).
The book on the famed Montalcino winery is bound to be a 'must-have' for wine enthusiasts the world over.
The volume, presented at the Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani office in Rome, was printed in limited edition (only 6,500 copies).
Research on the winery's vineyards and cellars was carried out over a 20 year period by Castello Banfi staff in collaboration with the Universities of Milan and Pisa.
Taken together, the studies form a scientific history of the winery.
It is the first time that Castello Banfi - owned by the Italian American Marini family - has published a text about their business.
