Inter fly amid Milan pen row

AC Milan was fuming after a late penalty handed Torino a 2-2 draw and left the Rossoneri three points adrift of their cross-city rivals Inter Milan.

Georgia defender Kaka Kaladze called the decision - after replays appeared to show the ball hitting his thigh before his arm - ''a scandal'' and branded ref Stefano Farina ''rubbish''.

Milan were also unhappy that an earlier decision in the Torino penalty area went against them, as an apparently similar handball was not called.

But coach Carlo Ancelotti said ''we should have put the match to bed ourselves, we should have shut up shop after going 2-1 ahead''.

Ancelotti praised Brazilian goalscorers Pato and Ronaldinho, saying the ex-Barca man ''has arrived''.

Monday's Italian press was also full of praise for Roma skipper Francesco Totti who scored with a trademark dink to seal Roma's 3-0 win at Lecce and lift last year's runners-up to 14th place after their disastrous start.

Pundits said it was a good omen for Wednesday's must-win Champions League game at Cluj.

Juventus, which fell six points behind Inter after Saturday's 1-0 defeat, travel to Zenit St Petersburg Tuesday hoping for a win that will seal qualification while Fiorentina are in a must-win game at home to Lyon the same night.

Inter are widely expected to clinch a spot in the knock-out stage at home to Panathinaikos Wednesday.
