Soccer: Inter to move for ManicheIn the first big move of the January transfer window, Italian champions Inter Milan said Tuesday there were mulling a bid for Atletico Madrid's unsettled Portugal midfielder Maniche.

Inter officials will meet with the player's agents and representatives of the Spanish club on Wednesday, Chairman Massimo Moratti told Sky Italia.

If the 30-year-old ex-Porto star does come to Milan he will hook up with former international team-mate Figo, who has been urging Moratti to buy his compatriot.

But Moratti, who boasts arguably the strongest squad in Europe, said there was ''nothing definite yet''.

''We'll have to have a close look at the deal. Given our strength in depth, we might back off''.

Internacional of Brazil meanwhile told Inter its striker Nilmar, who played a key role in beating the Nerazzurri in the Dubai Cup final, was not available.
