Inter set for triumph

Inter Milan will seal their third straight Serie A title and 16th in all if they beat Siena on Sunday.

San Siro is sold out for the long-awaited climax to a season which has seen Inter dominate only to look jittery near the finishing line.

With two games left the leaders only need one win because of a better head-to-head record with Roma, three points behind in second.

Inter have been boosted by Wednesday's 2-0 win over Lazio in the semi-finals of the Italian Cup.

But they are warding off accusations of another fit of nerves after coach Roberto Mancini and stopper Marco Materazzi were shown red cards against Lazio and TV replays appeared to show striker Julio Cruz punching a Lazio defender.

''I didn't think the team were particularly on edge,'' said Mancini, who also reiterated his denial of a falling-out with chairman Massimo Moratti over the team's alleged lack of fight in last week's defeat to AC Milan.

''Just like always, everything I say is twisted to cause a row,'' he said, stressing that the alleged affair had just been a ''gentleman's disagreement''.

Materazzi has been banned from the Cup rather than the league but Inter will be without fellow defenders Nicolas Burdisso and Cristian Chivu, who were both injured at Lazio.

Striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic won't be back to join the expected party as he nurses a long-standing knee problem.

After winning 3-0 at Sampdoria last weekend, Roma are set to pounce if Inter slips up. A Roma win against Atalanta would set up a last-day thriller if Inter fails to see off Siena.

Juventus are assured of third place but the final Champions League race is still on with one point separating Milan from Fiorentina.

The win against Inter took Milan into fourth but they face a tough trip to Napoli while Fiorentina host relegation-threatened Parma.

Sampdoria travel to Palermo and Udinese host Cagliari in the scrap for a UEFA berth.

In the battle against the drop, Livorno will be relegated if they don't beat Torino. Parma and Empoli will also go down if they lose at Fiorentina and Reggina, providing Torino earns a point and Catania beats Juve.
