Italy wants to set up a permanent committee to confer with Israel similar to the one the United States has, Foreign Minister Franco Frattini said Thursday. Frattini said he would propose the new ''strategic''
body to Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni when she visits Rome Friday.
''Structured dialogue'' was needed on the Middle East, the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, Iran and the Mediterranean, he said.
