Italian theme park operator Separ SpA, owner of the theme and amusement park Italia in Miniatura, located near the Adriatic resort of Rimini, central Italy, was awarded in the Best Edutainment Park category of the Parksmania Award 2005 handed by independent non-profit association
Parksmania Club.
"We are very happy to confirm our position as best educational park. This means that the investments that we have made in a bid to improve our offer are appreciated. All the quality certifications we have obtained, for instance, the ISO 14001 2004 environmental certificate, on the one hand, and the strategic choice to adhere to the philosophy of learning while having fun (edutainment) have made the park unique on the Italian panorama", said Separ CEO Paolo Rambaldi.
In the Best Edutainment Park category, Italia in Miniatura took the upper hand over strong competitors Acquario di Genova aquarium and the Parco Natura Viva park. The theme park was also nominated in the Best Indoor Show category, with La Storia '
Italia (The Story of Italy) show, where it competed with the Gardaland theme park and the Felifonte entertainment park.
Separ creative consultant Russel Bekins was handed the award during a ceremony held in the Movieland Studios di Canevaworld Resort park on May 13, 2006.
The Acquario di Cattolica aquarium, also managed by Separ, was awarded for Best Initiative at the 2005 edition of the Parksmania Award.
