Daria Dazzan won award dedicated to the Michaelles jumpsuit - Daria Dazzan, resident and fashion student in Anversa, has won the Concorso european tuta award - la tuta sfida il futuro.
The competition - put on for the first time by the Fondazione Museo del Tessuto in Prato - is dedicated to the redesign of the Ernesto Michaelles (aka Thayaht) famous jumpsuit.
The Prato museum is currently hosting a Thayaht show.
Over 400 Italians and non participated in the competition.
Contestants represented 25 European countries (the majority from Holland) and 186 were under 25 years old.
The young talents are hoping to break in to the business by recreating the jumpsuit - a revolutionary piece that has a bright future in Italian fashion.
Designed by Thayat in 1919, he named the garment 'tuta', a play on the Italian word tutta' (all).
The name suggests the complete nature of the garment, with the missing 't' turning up again in the physical shape of the jumpsuit.
