Italians have lots of sex but aren't very happy about it, according to the latest study by the Durex company.
The average Italian has sex 121 times a year or just over twice a week - towards the high end of a poll carried out by the Harris Interactive research agency in 26 countries.
The top five were Greece with 164, Brazil with 145, Poland and Russia with 143 and India with 130.
But only 36% of Italians say they're happy with the kind of sex they're getting, compared to an average satisfaction rating of 44%.
The least happy nations were Singapore and Thailand with 35%, Hong Kong with 29%, France with 25% and Japan with 15% - though the French Institute of Sexology noted wryly that the latter pair "have a long erotic tradition and therefore have very high expectations".
The five less sexually active countries were the United States and Singapore with 85 sex bouts a year, Nigeria with 84, Hong Kong with 82 and Japan with 48.
The average duration of a sex session was 18 minutes.
Nigerians boasted the longest bouts, 24 minutes, and Indians admitted the shortest ones, 13 minutes.
