Flash News - Italy's Aldo Montano won the silver medal in the men's sabre at the World Fencing Championships here on Tuesday.
Montano, Olympic champion in 2004, was beaten in the final by Russia's Stanislav Pozdniakov, five-times world champion and Olympic champion in 1996.
Montano's medal was Italy's third in St Petersburg. Gioia Marzocca has already won silver in the women's sabre and Andrea Baldini won the bronze in the men's foil.
