Italy Magazine - Issue 44

As much as I like autumn I always find that November seems to be a kind of ‘limbo’ month. We’re trying to cling onto the last rays of sunshine, desperately ignoring the pattering of ever-increasing rain and, if you’re in the UK, trying to avert your eyes from the stacks of mince pies that have been sitting on supermarket shelves since September. However it’s definitely a great time to plan ahead for the Christmas and New Year festivities. We can daydream about what the nuovo anno will bring – new friends, fantastic holiday, more money?Magari. Well no-ones ever sure about the last one I guess but we can certainly get you started with our ‘winter holidays’ supplement published alongside the magazine this month. We’ve focused on the different types of holidays you can have which isn’t all skiing some of you will be pleased to know. There’s a competition to win a private tour of Florence and be sure not to miss the very amusing – albeit slightly alarming – snapshot of a Venetian holiday by award-winning author Jack Gantos. "
