Without doubt Italians have the most incredible skin in the world. With his heritage, Robert De Niro has somehow never aged and Monica Bellucci must stop traffic regularly with her sparkle. Regardless of whether it’s spring, summer, autumn or winter, the Italians have that Mediterranean luminosity that makes the rest of us look like a piece of chalk. For years I sat on the beach slapping on factor 50 sun cream whilst catching sight of the neighbouring Italian goddesses spraying nothing but a mist of water on their faces as I mumbled sullenly, ‘It has to be the genes’.
