World champions Italy slipped to third place in FIFA's monthly world rankings while newly-crowned European champions Spain held first place.
Germany leapfrogged Italy into second place while the Netherlands climbed from fifth to fourth and Croatia jumped from seventh to fifth.

Argentina retreated from sixth to seventh place while the once-mighty France dropped out of the top ten and settled in 12th position.
