Juventus mulls stadium revamp

Juventus is mulling two projects to revamp its new Delle Alpi stadium, CEO Jean Claude Blanc said on Tuesday.

The two options are restructuring or complete renovation of the stadium, which the club bought from the city of Turin for 25 mln euros ($36.8 mln).

A restyling would mean the stadium would be ready for the beginning of the 2009/2010 soccer season with a 50,000-seat capacity, Blanc told Turin's sports and culture commission.

The second project would take longer, with the new stadium expected to be unveiled for the 2011/2012 season with a 40,000-seat capacity.

The Juventus board is currently studying possible means of financing, Blanc said.

Blanc did not specify the cost of the projects, but did say a complete revamp would cost five times the restructuring project.
