Kayser: Biological studies on spaceshipsCompany to launch 32 micro-laboratories made in Livorno - The next space mission for Kayser a company which specializes in research and aerospace experimentation includes the launch of 32 micro-laboratories.

Produced in Livorno, the labs will be sent to the international space station then launched into orbit around the Earth.

The activity takes place in the context of the Russian space mission, Soyuz 15, scheduled for October 10 from the Baikonur launch pad.

Kayser, which boasts 36 space missions in collaboration with the Italian and European space agencies, will also participate in a late October mission on the space shuttle Discovery.

Italian astronaut Paolo Nespoli will carry out two experiments while on board one on upper body movement and a didactic experiment on bacteria.

The Livorno company completed two similar experiments last summer. The 'Elite S2' was installed on the international space station last August.

It is the name of an instrument used in the study of posture and movements of astronauts in orbit. The study's results are pertinent to the field of medical rehabilitation for patients with spinal problems.

At the end of September, the Russian satellite Foton M3 returned to Earth: on board were nine Kayser instruments (including an incubator to study the reaction of cellular material), which will allow the study of gravitational and radiation effects on the human body.

Kayser was founded in 1986 the company and its 40 employees are headquartered in Livorno.
