In Agrigento, an incident involving one child licking the ice cream cone of an other turned into a neighborhood brawl here in Sicily which had to be broken up by police.
It all began when a six-year-old complained to his mother that his friend, also six, had licked his cone. The mother protested with the mother of the other child and soon a host of other relatives joined in an argument which escalated into a violent street brawl involving over 20 people.
Police arrived to break up the fight and ended up booking 18 people on charges including aggravated assault and illegal weapons possession. Two people needed medical treatment after being beaten with sticks.
