'Maremma' brand is tourism model in Balkans

For years, the unspoiled Maremma region of Tuscany has chosen to promote its image and attract tourists by concentrating on the environment and natural area.

It is a model that has worked in Tuscany and is set to be replicated and adapted in Southeastern European countries, which are characterized by a rural economy and an unspoiled environment where sustainable and responsible tourism can be developed.

Maremma's experience takes off for the Balkans thanks to a project promoted by the Province of Grosseto in collaboration with other institutional and area partners to promote Southeastern Europe's natural beauty and increase environmental tourism.

The mission of the project is to launch a tourist brand just like the one in Maremma. It is called ''Balkans'' and will promote the areas around the Neretva Valley to the Radika Valley with a single image.

The Region of Tuscany and the Province of Grosseto mean to boost Balkan tourism by developing infrastructures and services with the help of local institutions.

Thus, Maremma continues to promote itself not only through its natural beauty, but also thanks to its social values.

Starting today, you can find a little Maremma in the Balkans too.
