Italian luxury sports car maker Maserati SpA, part of Fiat Automobiles Group, will increase its sales by 25% year-on-year in 2008, CEO Roberto Ronchi said during the Detroit Motor Show.
Maserati sees sales of between 8,500 and 9,000 units in 2008, compared to 7,535 units in 2007. In 2007 the sales of the company increased by 33.3% year-on-year.
The sales of the company in the USA will grow to at least 3,200 units in 2008, compared to 2,500 in 2007, Ronchi said.
Maserati plans to enter the Indian market in 2008. India is a market which will become ''very interesting'' in the next two or three years, Ronchi said.
In 2008 Maserati will make a decision for a new model of the car maker which should be launched in 2010 or 2011.
