European champs AC Milan will launch their bid for Barcelona's Cameroon star Samuel Eto's as soon as the Liga ends, Deputy Chairman Adriano Galliano said Tuesday.
"We won't disturb Barcelona until the end of the championship," Galliani said at a Milan training camp at this Sardinian resort.
Asked about Chairman Silvio Berlusconi's promise, amid celebrations for the recent 2-0 Champions League win over Liverpool, that Milan fans can expect a "big buy" this summer, Galliani said "the chairman has kept all his promises in his 20 years at the club".
But he added that the Serie A giant is not desperate for reinforcements.
"We might even settle for the four strikers we have now, (Alberto) Gilardino, (Filippo) Inzaghi, Oliveira and Ronaldo."
However, Galliani hinted that Italy striker Gilardino, unhappy at not getting first-choice action, might be let go "as long as he brings in 24 million euros".
Pundits think Milan will be offering something like 30-35 million for three-time African Footballer of the Year Eto'o, who is also being sought by top European clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool.
Galliani firmly ruled out the possibility of unsettled Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko returning to Milan, saying it was "more impossible than improbable".
Milan is, however reportedly keen to strengthen its midfield, with Real Madrid's ex-Juve Brazilian Emerson top of the list - if the price is right.
Brazilian phenom Carlo Eduardo is another target.
Eduardo, 19, who recently got his first Brazil call-up, confirmed Tuesday he had been approached by Milan and Barcelona and "the Italian bid is higher".
He declined to go into details but the Brazilian media said his club Gremio's asking price was about 13 million euros.
