Fiorentina's Romanian striker Adrian Mutu will be out for a month with a knee injury sustained in Sunday's 1-0 loss at Roma, doctors said Monday.
The 29-year-old Romania star, who has led Fiorentina to the Champions League zone, will miss important games such as an upcoming clash with Juventus and a UEFA Cup match against Everton.
Mutu has scored 30 goals in 53 appearances for Fiorentina since joining the Florence club in 2006.
He is currently second in the Serie A marksmen's standings with 14 goals, one behind Genoa's Marco Borriello and Juve's David Trezeguet and level with Inter's Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Fiorentina are joint fourth in the Serie A championship with AC Milan but have a worse goal difference.
