New car sales in Italy tumbled 7.26% in January, over the same month last year, after climbing 14.08% in December, sector sources said on Friday.
Italy's Fiat felt the blow but was able to limit its sales losses last month to 6.57%, after sales soared 19.48% in December.
Despite its downturn in sales, Fiat was able to maintain its market share in Italy at 31.47%, which better than its share of 31.24% in January of last year while below its share of 31.64% in December.
