No repeat of 2002 says Totti

Inter Milan will not blow up on the final day of the season like they did in 2002, Roma skipper Francesco Totti said Monday.

A day after Inter failed to clinch their 16th scudetto with one day left, Totti was asked if he saw a rerun of the famous day when Inter surrendered a 2-1 lead and lost 4-2 at Lazio, handing the Serie A title to Juventus.

''No, Inter's going to win at Parma, we'll win at Catania and they'll get the scudetto,'' Totti said.

Roma beat Atalanta 2-1 Sunday while Inter drew 2-2 at home to Siena, cutting the gap at the top to one point compared to 11 in February.

Inter's last challenge Parma, which is threatened with the drop, is led by the man who coached Inter on that tearful day in Rome in May 2002, Argentine coach Hector Cuper.

Rome's final opponent Catania, which is also in the relegation equation, is coached by Inter goalkeeping legend Walter Zenga.
