AC Milan right back Massimo Oddo is joining his former World Cup-winning team mate Luca Toni at Bayern Munich on a year's loan, the German champions said on their website Thursday.
The former Lazio defender, who was left out of Euro 2008, asked for a transfer after another 2006 World Cup hero, Gianluca Zambrotta, came to Milan from Barcelona.
Bayern Chairman Karl-Heinz Rumenigge, who has the option of buying Oddo once the year is out, said he was ''very happy to have such a strong and experienced defender''.
Oddo, who has 34 Italy caps, moved to Milan from Lazio before last season, when he turned out 35 times for the Rossoneri and scored twice.
For Lazio, between 2002 and 2007, he played 135 times and scored 17 goals.
Oddo is known for his inswinging crosses and is also dangerous from spot kicks
He played only 23 minutes at Germany 2006 where he earned the nickname the Barber of Berlin for trimming his team mates' hair.
