An Italian pensioner caught selling drugs said he had turned to the trade to make ends meet.
The man, 67, was nabbed in a park in this Sicilian city when two youths approached him for marijuana.
Police took him home where they found some seven kilogrammes of the drug.
The man's wife, 64, reportedly admitted keeping narcotics, saying ''we just couldn't make it to the end of the month any more''.
The man was taken to a local prison while the wife was placed under house arrest because of her poor health.
