New York flight attracted over 6,000 people during the month - The Pisa airport saw a total of 1,624,963 people during the first half of 2007 a 14.9% increase over last year s numbers.
Profits increased more than 10% to 22.5 million Euro, up from 20.2 million last year.
The numbers were furnished by SAT the airport s management company which recently joined the stock exchange and were compared to figures from June 2006.
The airport benefited significantly from the closure of the Florence airport 225,000 passengers were bumped to the Pisa s airport during the remodelling.
The numbers were also bolstered by the June 1st opening of Delta Airlines Pisa-New York flight the only flight that connects Tuscany to a major U.S. airport.
Delta counted 6,355 passengers and a load-factor of 82.5% during the month of June alone.
