Pisa airport's 2007 budget approved

SAT shareholders (management company for the Galileo Galilei airport) recently approved the company's 2007 budget.

During the last year, proceeds equalled 51.27 million euros, a 17.78% increase with respect to 2006. The active 3.7 million euro budget is up 28.47%.

Shareholders deliberated a 10 euro cent dividend per share, up 40.45% with respect to 2006, which expires on May 19.

The new union group was also nominated, the president is Loredana Durano.

During 2007, over 3.7 million people flew in and out of Pisa, up 23.6% from the prior year. Taking into consideration the influx of passengers due to the closure of the Florence airport, Pisa airport traffic is up a total of 33.6% for 2007.

The positive growth trend in traffic is confirmed by data from the first three months of 2008, which recorded a 17.4% increase with respect to the same period in 2006, for a total of 719 passengers.

Also up are the number of destinations served: direct flights from the Pisa airport went from 53 during the summer of 2007, to 57 during summer 2008, for a total of 400 flights per week.
