Designed by Cnr in Pisa according to 'domotic' principlesAn automated "home on wheels" that shuts its own windows when it rains or is windy, closes the gas pipe when the stovetop has been left on and responds to voice and sound commands: this is the novel, low-energy consuming 'domotic' camper designed by the national research institute CNR of Pisa.
The prototype, which has been named 'Lucy', combines the best domestic automation technology on the market.
It can change channels on the television and shut lights off on its own, and it can even respond to physical commands by users.
In fact, it is very useful when transporting elderly and disabled passengers.
The camper and its novel design is part of the project entitled 'Equal Sodo', coordinated by Ist Information 'Alessandro Faedo' of the Pisa CNR and is the result of 1.2 million euro in funding received from the European Social Fund, the Employment Ministry and the Tuscan Region.
"Lucy is not only a prime example of the benefits of using automated technology for domestic applications said CNR resarcher Giuseppe Fusco but it is also an environmentally-friendly invention that is self-sufficient in terms of energy consumption.
