The fact that Prato textile industry continues its intensive research is evidenced by the Lineapiu' group's recent launch of a bamboo thread.
The new product was created in the group's Cotonificio Ferrari laboratories.
''We wanted a revolutionary thread that would last for years, be ecologically sound and respect the environment,'' explained Lineapiu' vice president Lola Coppini.
''Obtained from a unique working of the bamboo's chemical makeup, the new thread is 100% natural, it does not crease, and is able to constantly breathe, which gives a fresh and delicate feel to the garment''.
The bamboo fiber has a micro-cavity structure that favours breathing and is resistant to humidity.
Cultivated without pesticides, the fiber is antibacterial and free of pollutants, in addition to being 100% biodegradable.
